Just go out at night or better still, on a damp night, armed with a torch and a plastic container and gather them up. You'd be amazed how many you will nab. Make sure the container has a lid and bung the whole lot into the freezer. Don't forget to tell the missus they're in there. A slow but humane end. Do this a couple of times a week and you will make a significant dent in the population. Don't forget to retrieve from the freezer otherwise the stir frys could get interesting.

What's wrong with the mains 235V??

When we lived near Stroud I used to go out each evening just after dark with a torch a jar with white spirit in it and a pair of fire tongs. Just pick them up and drop them in the jar. After a few evenings the number were right down and after a couple more it was difficult to find any.

It was quite painless unless you caught yer fingers in the tongs, but extreamly effective. When the jar was full it went into the bin, kob jobbed 8) 8)
