Chris, let me know how you like it. I might order a copy myself. I suggested this book to my brother. He said he would get to it after he finishes "Springy Doorstops and the Cats Who Hate Them" and, from the How It Works series, "Salt Shakers". He admitted to peeking at the end of the latter and says he now knows how it ends.
Is somebody's calendar running fast...? Good lord, the whole world is indeed contained in books, even unto the demand for hinges. I hope the author's taken into account the dramatic rise in UK demand likely in the last week before the 2012 Olympics as the chippies try and get all the doors hung in time. :lol
Wow! What a great book. Hinges from the future - how exciting!

P.s. You just know this book is going to be the butt of various jokes. Arf!
Alf - Nah, they will still be pouring concrete in 2012  East London chippies, if they've an ounce of sense, will be busy on 'real' jobs!!
Dave - This book does sound a tad pricey, but I seem to recall a similar tome a few years ago claiming to tell you all about the world market for mobile phones that was (at that time) $1,500 I suppose some firms will buy it, after all it is probably tax deductible

Martin, you're in luck! There was one in the local used book seller's yesterday at lunch time. I forget the price but it was a lovely edition. I believe it was even inscribed by the author.
