Hi

I've just finished this cabinet in cherry and burr oak. It's qite an unususal design as the customer wanted a shelf above the cabinet on which to diplay photogrphs and ornaments, actually they wanted two shelves originally but I talked them out of that! Not sure I like the design, it's the bet I could come up with given the spec., but the making had a couple of interesting challenges.

Interesting design, which I like, and nice execution. Would the door not have opened with straight hinges and hidden the pin?

Hi

The hinges are from Hafele, I know Brusso are better but you have to draw the line somewhere costwise!

With the curve on the doors the arc of the corner when the door is opened would have fouled on the side if I had used straight pivots, it only just worked with the cranked hinges. I did not want to use butts as they would spoil the line of the door at the side.

Chris,

A lovely piece of work all round. An interesting match of timbers and a thoughtful design. I'd have something like that in my home all day and a bit!

And never mind the hinges.... Where did you get the slotted screws? My store is dwindling!

Regards
John
