In the last 10 years since my small workshop was built it has been used far more than I anticipated. A recent investment in new equipment means I'm running out of space. I think it may be time to do away with my Norm inspired router table in favour of building it into the table saw extension. Just wondering people's thoughts on this. Has anyone done it? Anyone got any pics that I could take ideas from please?

something I have thought of doing for a while now lots of youtube vids on it. However I have lots more to do first, let us know how you get on.

I can't help but am going down the same route at the minute. I intend moving one of the side extensions on my SIP 01332 to double up one side, suitably supported and build a router table into the other side, just busy trawling the net for ideas, searched here as well but can't find any.

I have an old Kity spindle moulder that's too big for me now so that can be sold.

Id be very interested in what you come up with and will post mine once I get started

Bob

I did it and am very pleased with the result. I have an Axminster AW10BSB table saw. I modified the legs slightly and used its rear extension table brackets to mount a router table extension on the left-hand side (not having found a rear extension useful). I used a bit of high pressure laminate worktop for the table.

I based my lift design on that of John Heisz (YouTube).

Mine's to go on a sip 01332 too. Going to move the left extension table to other side and mount router in its place. Have a router lift already.

I placed mine behind my table saw and got rid of my outfeed table. The router table now does that job instead at around the same amount of space taken up as the outfeed table it replaced. Result = space saved.

This works fine for me. My router is mounted in the out-feed table. I built in the majority of my old router table underneath the out-feed leaf. The only negative is that I have to remove my router fence and wind down the cutter to use the saw.
