Hi all,

Does anyone know where I could get some unseasoned green oak for outdoor use in the north yorkshire area? I'm looking for rustic imperfect stuff (in other words) I've not got deep pockets :) I've found reasonable prices on ebay but it's all 100 miles or more from me which makes delivery very costly.

Cheers.

I've never seen any at Boddy's, but it worth asking them and British Hardwoods over at Keighley. BH have a sawmill and kiln so may be able to source you some before it's dried

I dont use John Boddys myself but i have there catalogue and it says they keep 4000 cubic ft of beams in stock from 3x3 in to 18 X18 inch (wouldnt like to lift one of them)

A cottage I am designing currently with a green oak frame requires one member to be 575 x 400 x 6.2m (c. 23"x16" x 21ft).......imagine the weight of that!

Thanks all. I ended up getting it from Marsland Timber near Wetherby
