Broccoli. What's that all about? I was offered some today. I'd rather be chained down and have my nuts squashed.
Do some folk actually admit to liking the taste of broccoli? It's beyond me.

Love it, but can't stand cauliflower, tastes like stagnate ponds.

What - first time you've tried broccoli - what a sheltered life you must lead?

Food of the Gods but Purple Sprouting is tastier.

Assumptions. I never stated that it was the first time I've tasted it, just that I was offered some. Obviously I refused, as any sane person would!!

Both cauliflower and broccoli are nice roasted - cauliflower cooked the Indian way is very nice and so is broccoli roasted with sesame seeds and oil.

My kids were brought up eating mostly broccoli and baby sweetcorn. We called them trees as well!

There's just no accounting for taste when it comes to veg. My wife actually LIKES mushy peas. Yuk. I haven't touched them since school dinners - come to think of it, I didn't eat them then either.
But broccoli, cauli etc - bring em on. Even broad beans as long as they are fresh from the garden, otherwise again - yuk.

Well broccoli is my go-to veg. I have it most days and I have to force myself to do something else. Last night I had mushy peas, a rare treat and tonight it Savoy cabbage. It's a long time since I had cauli, I must do something about that, I have an excellent cauli cheese recipe somewhere.

There are not many foods I don't like, I'm even getting to accept capers and anchovies, things I've never really got on with.

Must try the roasted idea, thanks.

We often have roast parsnip, but recently we have been having roasted carrot as well - all in the roast potato pan. Roasted carrots are really the best.

A thread about Broccoli.......for a minute I thought Id drifted into netmums

Of course if somebody mentions how eating copious amounts of broccoli improves ones sharpening technique, then I'll know I'm still safely in the correct forum!

Carrots batons fried in olive oil until soft then add ground ginger and serve, very nice.

I find if you gently lap your Broccoli on a 60,000 grit Japanese waterstone, it tastes disgusting!

I've also NEVER mastered half blind dovetails when trying to join my parsnips to the Cauli. Waste of blinkin' time!

Both cauliflower & broccoli are nice raw, don't know why folks insist on cooking all the nutrients out of them
