One of the members of my local woodturning club gave a talk recently about his segmented pens, he makes a myriad of designs using coloured woods.

I was impressed enough to have a go myself, though next time i need to make a drilling jig, as the slightest deviation in drilling led to the vertical "joints" not lining up.

Luckily number 2 son loves it, imperfections & all

Photography down to my usual standard

Cheers.

Fantastic Doug. The luck was really on your side when you made this. Photography is good too. Well done. =D>

Lovely work though not my personal taste and as someone who has never made a pen I have to admire the effort put into it.

Hi Doug,
I can appreciate the patience that has gone into fabricating the blank, and then you have done a good job of turning the pen.

Nice job!

Malc :D

Knowing how much care is needed with the much bigger segments I'm currently playing with I can only applaud you on the dexterity needed to handle and assemble those little pieces.

Drilling those true after the painstaking assembly must have been a real cheek puckering experience.

Many thanks for the kind comments, much appreciated.

Lol, i managed to only break 1 Chas, though next time a simple drilling jig will solve that.
