A week ago I turned a bowl at Alan's workshop ( Blister) intending to decorate the top at home.
Well I have finally got around to doing it.
I toyed with the idea of scorching the edge but decided not to in case I destroyed The shed
What do you think, guys?

John B, thank you another little idea for me to try out ,Hope it looks half as good as yours Thanks for showing keep them coming. REgards Boysie.

Very nice, is it me seeing the decoration flow with the grain or did you do it on purpose ? what wood is it ? how did you finish it? how big is it? and could we have a side view, and a look at the bottom please, great work you have the gift!! :D

Andrew about nailed anything I was about to say, just enough to enhance, not enough to be 'in your face' .

Thank you gentlemen for your kind words.
The wood is spalted Beech, if you look at last weeks postings under,
'John. B comes to play'
you'll find all the production pics kindly taken by Alan (Blister) at his workshop.

Ooo

John are you going to put a Finnish on it ?

like sanding sealer put on with a toothbrush to get in the carvings and the same with the polish ?

Looks to be some contrast between the the shiny and the matt ?

looks good though

Looks good.
Rather than struggle with applying sanding sealer into the grooves as has been suggested you could use oil or a sprayed lacquer

No, I thought I would use it as mixed nut bowl over Christmas.
With the amount of handling the grooves should fill nicely with the patina of time.
