I would avoid English woods at the moment. I have tried to e mail and phone for over a month now
I have just started to use bought wood, up to a few days ago I used whatever scrap wood I could get.

Dalmann have a really interesting range of exotic African wood, much of it cut to spindle and bowl blanks. A bit far for you to visit, but you can buy from their website

I don't know if I am lucky to be a short drive away, as I always end up buying more than I intended to, but I do find wood like wild mango really nice to turn
