Bosch router and 8mm collet

I own a Bosch GOF 1300 ACE router, which has a 8mm collet. Unfortunately, there is far less choice of cutters with a 8mm shank than with a 1/4 inch shank. Does a collet reducer exist for this model so that I might have greater choice by purchasing 1/4 inch shank cutters? Or is there any other method by which I might achieve the same result?

Have a look here for all the 8mm cutters listed by Wealden Tool (click each link). Trend do a reducer here. I'd prefer to get a replacement ¼" collet, if they're available. HTH

It is a few years since I bought mine but I am sure it came with both 6 and 8mm collet and spare nut. There is certainly both in the box. If not bosch do supply a 6mm collet and nut.

I'm not a router expert but this cheap set comes with three collets. presumably different sizes? Not sure if they fit the bosch though.

You can get 1/4" collets for Bosch from Trend:

Link does not always work true, look for collets, other makes.

Don't know if they will supply direct, last time I wanted one I had to order through agent and they applied a charge on top of Trend price.

Bosch Spares also used to supply them, sorry can't put my finger on a 'phone No. at the mo.

Their router comes with 6mm, 8mm and 1/4.

I have these and they are a darn sight better that the collet that came with my baby bosch. They also fit my B&Q 1200W "screamer".

I thank you all for your constructive replies to my original post.
I have had a reply from Bosch itself, also, the start of which read, "There is a 1/4 collett and nut for this router. The part number is 2608.570.104". It then gave me the details of a mail order company, Rai Technical Ltd.
I include this brief information in case it is of use to other woodworking enthusiasts.
