Bosch guide rails

Morning everyone

I have just managed to acquire a mighty fine Bosch circular saw, GKS 85 G, and as I am intending to use this for sheet material, am looking for suitable guide rails

I have found a retailer offering 1600mm rails for £40 inc which seems very reasonable

My question is, Bosch state "Exact interplay with the new Bosch FSN guide system and with rails from other suppliers"

Does anyone know what other rails can be used ??

I believe that you can use the festool rail system and the makita one as well. i am not sure about the dewalt one.
However the mafell/bosch rails do join very well and its much better than the festool system in that regard. However it can be a bit fiddly getting the saw aligned with the groove.
I have the same saw as you the bosch 85g and i have to say its a monster. A day ripping boards with it and the rails was a good workout!

Typically, it would be the Dewalt rails I would be most interested in as I have a Dewalt router so would love to be able to use any rails with both tools

Anyone else got any experience with rails for this saw ?

And I know exactly what you mean about the weight of the saw, but I can't imagine there will be any jobs I throw at it that will ever put a strain on it and after using a small cordless Dewalt for some time, that will be a blessing

For clarity, just found the following on a Bosch blog -

"What you will be able to do is use our saws on the Festool guide rail system. All so called "G"-Models have a second groove in their footplate to that fits to Festool's guide rails."

Same blog also states that the Mafell rails are identical to Bosch

"And what about the Mafell tracks. Can be FSN tracks be integrated in a Mafell track+accessories setup?
Yes. The Mafell system is exactly the same as the Bosch system."
