I have had a "Bosch Blue" 12V driver for a couple of years, and it's a lovely little drill- but the batteries have recently gone decidedly downhill. Well, you might say, that is to be expected - but it hasn't had that much use, and I always totally discharge the battery pack before re-charging. I have had an Erbauer 18V combi drill for over 6 years, and it has done a hell of a lot of work (for much of its life it was my only cordless tool). The batteries for that seem to still be soldiering on, so I am a bit disappointed .
When I considered buying a replacement, I was stunned by the price (at least £35) and I have been thinking of cutting them open and re-celling them. Then I saw Axminster selling the latest version of the GSR12, complete with 3 batteries for £75 (and a set of drive bits thrown in) . So I now have 2 drills and 3 good batteries plus 2 dodgy ones, plus 2 chargers.
Hopefully the new battery packs will be better than the old, but the reason for the post was to ask if anyone else had had a similar experience ?
Regards Colin
