I’m surprised no one has mentioned Baxi. We’ve had ours for 4 years, came with 7 years parts and labour warranty as long as serviced by Baxi at £90 pa. V reliable so far and v efficient.

Definitely forget British Gas. I would go for Worcester Bosch, irrespective of what some may say, their after sales is very good and as long as you meet the requirements of the warranty, then you will have no probs. Just make sure you get a few quotes from 'reputable' Gas Safe engineers

OWK :eek:ccasion5:

Steer well clear of "british gas" as they are all half trained monkeys.
Find yourself (preferably by recommendation, the best ones never have to advertise) a good plumber and treat him like a god (plenty of tea and biscuits and pay the bill promptly).
The day will come when you have a emergency (usually in the depths of winter) and you will want someone you can trust to visit you PDQ.

I was going to recommend Vaillant from experience and Worcester Bosch by reputation. I was also going to recommend strongly AGAINST Saunier Duval but I've just discovered that they are now part of the Vaillant group. Either Vaillant have gone down-market or Saunier Duval up. Either way I think I would now recommend Worcester Bosch! :?
