Been struggling for ages with a metal router table from aldi, very cumbersome to change and adjust bits, and, as it's metal REALLY LOUD!!!
Found this idea on another forum, general woodworking, free links, and with some bits and bobs I already had, and a router that has a fine adjustment knob on it I now have a router that I can put up easily and hang on a strap on the wall out of the way.
Yes it's a bit hand knitted, and there are a couple of things I might change, but it works and it's easy to get the height - and it was free!!!

Very nice Gill, a good use of your ingenuity, as long as it works, that's the main thing. One of my first router tables was an old school desk with the underside routed out to take a router plate and router. lasted me for many years. Routing add a whole new dimension to scroll saw work. A tip though Gill. I would steer clear of pin guided router bits as they leave a nasty mark on the edge of the wood that is a pig to sand off, much better off with roller guided bits.
