ok guys i know this has probably been covered elsewhere, but where can you purchase bldes off the shelf, ie b&q style in the uk, i,m in the west country and apart from the internet, and axminster tools i,m kinda stumped, oh and new to scroll sawing aswell so forgive my ignorance cheers

There are no high quality blades that you can buy off the shelf in a chain store like B&Q, that I know of. Occasionally you can find low quality blades but not on a reliable basis, and certainly not in a wide variety of types and gauges.

A fuller range of Olson blades seem to be available now mail order in the UK than I've seen before, from http://www.woodworkscraftsupplies.co.uk/index.php?cPath=103

Nevertheless, for personal service and keen pricing I don't think you can beat Mike's Flying Dutchman blades from the USA.

many thanks for the reply, i,m surprised that we cant seem to find blades easily within the uk, especially as this seems to be a popular pastime, looks like its mail order then, shame as i do like to see what i,m buying in the flesh so to speak.
