Must be his shoe size lol !

Maybe you can buy a size 11 but it's certainly not a common size for scroll saw blades and I'd be interested to know if anyone knows where to buy them ?

However, size 12 is common and here are 3 links for you from a basic Internet search that supply to the UK.

I took a ride to Whitby today to see him but he wasn't there, probably took a day off to go sand yachting. Scrimper got it right, he buys his blades from Hobbies and was using #9's last year but was having problems with them.

Believe it or not I have all those sizes in my stock plus a few very heavy ones, I mostly use sizes 3, 5, 7 and 9, I normally keep a size 9 in my Diamond saw for heavier cutting and use the Hegner for more precision work.

Some of the blades in my fretwork cupboard were made by the Original Hobbies company when they made blades at Dereham in England, people here will think I am making this up but some of these blades are 70 plus years old and they still in perfect unused condition. Up until the 2nd world war my Grandfather retailed Hobbies stuff in his shop and when he died in 1968 I found a large stock of Hobbies British made blades in his shed, I still have some in my stock!
