Blade for Parkside plunge/track saw

I have had the saw about 9 months and it has seen only occasional use but the blade is definitely not as keen as it was.

I don't suppose it's worth sharpening, so can someone recommend a value for money replacement.

Great quality cut from the 40T blade.

Beware that it's got a narrower kerf than the standard Parkside blade, so you may want, or need, to renew the splinter guard if you fit one.

There's a Bosch blade that Axminster sell with the same dimensions, bit more money, but then it'll last a bit longer than that Axy blade. It's the same size blade as the Mafell and the Bosch plunge saw, and I have noticed in the past a lot of the Mafell blades are rebadged Bosch (or something like that anyway), so it's quite probably a very good blade. My Mafell is going in for sharpening, but it's lasted me over a year on some nasty jobs.

I put a Trend Craftpro - from evilbay - thinner kerf - but cheap - there may be thicker ones

I got one from ebay for my scheppach saw - if the parkside one is similar, its got a very small bore and I struggled to find a blade for it.

I am pretty sure Trend craft pro is just about perfect and even the kerf is close enough that you shouldn't need to adjust the strip. It's what I am planning to get for my own anyway.

Thanks guys, the craft pro is probably adequate for my needs.

A guy on amazon reckons it superior to the festool for a fraction of the price.

So it might just be good enough for Parkside.

If all the teeth are present it is surprisingly cheap to get them sharpened. I can't remember off hand but it's less the £10, possibly as little as a fiver. I get my festool and freud blades sharpened regularly I have North London Saws very close so don't have the extra expense of posting. Even if a few teeth are broken it is worth getting them to weld new ones on.

i have own of those saws and put this blade on it, i use Freud blades on most of my machines, dont think you can get better value for money blades

dont bother to sharpen the lidl one unless its to practice doing it yourself

btw you should be able to peel back the splinter guard and put it back on to be trimmed to the new blade

The parkside blades on sale this week are not suitable for the track saw.

EDIT: The blades will work, with reduced cutting capacity of course.

Worth it for more expensive blades I am sure but when I looked at blade sharpening plus postage etc it worked out I could buy a new one for less money.

Yes but it gives an indication of the price v resharpening ratio, should the 165 by 20s be even 3 times the price

Oh right, sorry. There are some very cheap blades available out there, quality of course is not guranteed. The parkside blades I have used have been pretty darn good value but they are not the best. For a bargain blade I recently picked up some 150mm blades from screwfix, selling them off for about a quid each. They work fine in my tracksaw (cutting depth reduced of course), quality is not the best and they are thin kerf so can wander a touch but I keep them for rough cutting nasty stuff like chip board, saves my better blades.

EDIT: The blades will work, with reduced cutting capacity of course.
