Beautiful, bravo
Another thing on my (very long) 'to do list' ...

that's really nice, I really like the black palm wood and maple together.

what's black palm like to work with? I was thinking of using it for a laminated guitar neck along with maple, would it be too open grain?

I didn't find it too bad - not something that likes a hand plane though, and I'm not sure how thin your laminate layers could be without losing their strength.

I don't know how much open grain you'd find acceptable. Once it had been filled, sealed and polished it wasn't as bad as I originally anticipated. I could probably have filled the grain again and got a mirror finish, but I was happy with a bit of texture once I'd seen it.

The palm was £60.

The maple is from a big plank I bought locally 12 months ago - approx 13"x2.5"x7', iirc about £80'ish.

The red wood was free - salvaged fire doors from a skip.
