Managed to pick up a Triton track saw for £89.64, sold by Amazon in Black Friday sale as "damaged box". Tracks extra of course.

Looked at my Metabo today; yes you could have it on a bench without the supplied stand
It would require bolting down pretty well as it looks a trifle top-heavy

Bought 2x5ah off the bay last night for ~£42 delivered to sunny Shetland. They're not genuine Makita ones (no sh*t!) but I've had others from the same seller ("ozcellskin" or something like that) which have all been good.
