I need to cut some 70mm diameter holes for soffit vents. Never done this before, and have never seen a 70mm spade bit, so what do I cut these holes with?

A hole saw.

I use the Bosch quick change ones, no complaints from me.

70mm here and as it is your first you would need an arbour/pilot

There are other good makes like Starret of which I have no experience, and cheap ones are also easy to come by if its a one-off task.
