I started with this pile of timber this morning
Atimber.jpg

And after a good days work ended up with these
Ptestingsize.jpg

These gates will be bi fold ones due to lack of space behind them. (guy has a Porshe in the way) Inserts will be V T&G and they are in redwood as usual. should get them finished tomorrow ready for fitting next week. :D

All the joints are M&Ts Mark. Apart from the diagonal braces which are biscuit jointed into the rails and stiles.

I got them completed today and ready to fit. Just got to get the posts now and ring the customer to arrange a date to fit them.

are those ball bearing hinges

No offense Mailee (I have utmost respect for your work) but i would have done three hinges, maybe not needed, but the client will see it as more quality

Nice work Alan

Mcluma - I think he has done 3 hinge - if you look carefully midway between the two fitted hinges I *think* you can see another hinge recess.

Cheers

You'r right karl, he had just not fitted them in that picture

Yep, spot on Karl. At the time I took these shots I had not fitted the other hinges. there are three per leaf. And you are correct Mcluma they are bearing hinges.

I got the gates fitted this morning.

After a bit of trimming and juggling I got a good fit. I was worried about the gap at the bottom but he told me he is having the drive re laid anyway. Happy customer I am glad to say. :D
Got back to the workshop afterwards and finished this one that I am hoping to fit on Friday:

This one is 7' tall and will be topped by this panel:

This one is to block off an alleyway between two houses.
