Hi,

Everyone used to recommend Dure Edge, but they seem to have disappeared now. Where's the best place to get decent blades as a hobbyist - ie only ordering one or two at a time?

I think I've only ever bought three blades for my saw, but my 1/4" 6 tooth has suddenly gone bad on me - wants to cut at about 20 degrees off course, so I'm assuming its finally knackered.

Thanks in advance, Tony S

Give Dakin Flathers a call in Pontefract, they'll tell you who your nearest dealer is and you can order through them

I've just bought some blades from Trucut http://www.trucutbandsaws.co.uk/ and they were both quick and cheap. I bought three blades, one 1/2" 4tpi, one 3/8" 6tpi, one 1/4" 10tpi, 70 1/2", was £7.50 per blade plus £1.95 postage. Ordered on the phone on Friday afternoon, blades with me on Tuesday. Phoned them for advice and they were very helpful.

The blades seem to work fine but I am new to bandsaws and don't really know what to expect. Do know they are much better than the blade that came with the machine...

Thanks for the comments. I've had my bandsaw for a while, and to start with I had a hellish job getting it working right so if Dure Edge had still been around I would be very reluctant to use any other blades.

I ordered one from Axminster just to "tide me over" since I was ordering from them anyway. It will be interesting to see how that works. So far I've only ever used the original supplied blade (horrible) and the Dure Edge blades.
