Hi all
Could you please let me know of a good on line supplier of top quality ply for scroll work.
I have used Hobbies and they have good service. The problem is I don't understand the grading numbers they use, can anyone share there thoughts on this.

Cheers
Paul

I emailed Hobbies this morning and the numbers beside their plywood are simply their reference numbers for thickness and sheet size. All their plywood is the same quality with no plugs on one side, which i think would equate to B/BB grade.

Have you tried searching Google for baltic birch suppliers in your area?

As Martin has posted, have a Web search for timber merchants in your area. I am lucky, having a timber yard in my area that supplies the boat building industry so all of their timber is grade (A).

I purchase Baltic Birch ply from them at a six sheet rate size (8'x4'), but it is still expensive, the invoice being well over two hundred pounds a go, but the ply is flawless.

There is no such thing as inexpensive, grade (A), Baltic Birch ply, sorry to say.

Take care.

Chris R.
