I also have some UniClamps and I hate them. They are difficult to use because they do not slide properly but even so they do not break under pressure like the Axminster ones.

I know what you mean about the sliding but, I've found they work a lot easier if you apply some lubricating wax to the bars first.

I've actually over-tightened one of Uni-Clamps and have broken one of the sliding jaws on the inside (it won't tighten up properly) - guess I'll have to see if Bessey sell spares?

Oh, and the best place to buy Uni-Clamps appears to be D&M Tools, where you can buy a pair of 600mm cramps for about £22. :wink:
