I bought a Record BS250 bandsaw a couple of years ago and I've been very happy with it and feel it was money very well spent. I find it very accurate once set up properly. A larger bandsaw would have been very nice but I have to get my tools out each day and put them away in the evening. A bench top model was the only option as I need to physically carry it from one place to another. I've had no problems cutting a variety of hardwoods and also thin and accurate slices of hardwood up to about 90mm in height. They don't have the most powerful motor on desktop machines, as you would expect, but as long as you use a sharp, good quality blade (I use Tuffsaws) and take the cut at a steady pace then the machine does what it's supposed to. The Record 5 year guarantee is a bonus as are the regular demonstrations and price discounts.
