Hi Loz,

Nice box, & well finished so far as I can tell from the pics. Glad you got a good fit to the lid.
Like other people here I prefer the box with the smaller foot. Not sure about the shape of the finial on top - my personal preference would be for something more rounded and less pointy, but that's really down to personal taste.

My finial was going to be different !!! - but while finishing the lid ( jammed into body ) i had too much tail pressure - and it split, the blob i have now was the recovery !

I might even bore it out and add a new finial at some point.

Hi Loz,
Like everyone else I do think the box looks really nice and well proportioned now.
Looking at the crochet hook I wonder if a better solution would be to turn a user friendly handle in an exotic hardwood and fit a commercial metal or plastic hook into that? Just an option maybe?
Regards,
Ian

Box foot looks much better loz, well done for being able to re-mount it true enough to rework.

Thanks Chas,

I still had a decent spigot on there, and it hadn't moved too much, still took a little time to align correctly - I must start marking the jaw number on the work if removing !

Hi Loz. That crochet hook made me think. One thing I do sometimes with scrap bits is make lace bobbins. Good spindle practice and there are different types to have a go at. Don'y know if you've tied them, good fun and quick and easy. Better still if you know any lace makers who can use them
