Hi,
I took some garden waste to our local tip/recycling yard today and while i was there a local farmer arrived complete with tractor/trailer and started unloading some junk (while cursing every other breath lol) I couldn't help spotting some wooden items so strolled over for a better look. He said "Help yourself if ya want any of it" so i did here's what i found.
1x 5ft solid teak coffee table complete with solid teak lower shelf and *** burns.
2 x dark wood bedside cabinets (not sure what wood yet but at a guess i'd say mahogany)
1 x 30" oak oval mirror frame
24x solid very heavy brass door knobs at around 2" diameter that will polish up lovely
and last but not least a 6ft x 4" x 1" lump of oak (from a mantlepiece according to the farmer)
Not bad result?
Apparently they are downsizing from their large old farmhouse to a modern bungalow on their land and their son is moving into the farmhouse, I guess that's reason he was in a bad mood lol)
Its amazing how a boring trip to the tip can change into a great day out.
Cheers
Brian
