Good find, The supermarket ones are welded on, and I don't believe that they have the thread either.
Probably wouldn't be that hard to drill, and add a bolt though.

Have you got any plans yet ?... Me's loves me mobile bases 8)

No they arent and yes they do, I have 2 sets myself salvaged from smashed up trolleys I found. Someone might try to claim theft but if the trolleys are in open view of the road, are there for weeks without being reclaimed / returned etc etc, then my removal of what was essentially flytipping could be argued as a civic duty to remove something obviously abandoned by the owner. The rest of the metal will get dealt with properly.

Supposedly supermarket chains reclaim these "lost" trolleys but living within a couple of miles of 2 major supermarkets I see them regularly around these roads.

I stand corrected, I just assumed that they all were welded on.
I still could be mistaken as I never use a trolley, but the Tesco ones look on the large side.
95mm I guess....
A bit on the too easy to move scale for me.
I spotted a TKmax trolley a mile away from town a few years back...
These casters were 75mm which I wanted, but alas they were welded on, so my wrenches were no good.
Unfortunately it wasn't in an area where you could pull out a hacksaw

I do hope for your sake they are not off a supermarket trolley. If they are how will you get your mobile base to go where you want it to go ???. Every trolley I have ever used always goes where it wants to. :D :D :D :D

Most major supermarkets nowadays have an electronic tag in one of the front wheels to 'lock' it from being taken outside the perimeter of the car park, so the trolley going wherever it wants to is the least of your worries :D
