i have a sip 01444
I know it is not the best, but not my post reason
its sits on a metal storage box, under which when I got it I built a wooden frame with 4 x 2 and castors
it is a bit to tall, 46" to table
I need to lower it to fit in shed extension (low ceiling)
i could lose the box, and build another option
what height do you work with?
any castor plans ?
do you just man-handle it, i am not even sure how i got it on the stand and have even less idea how i would get it on a new one

I've had my Startrite 301S for about 20 years now. The table height is about my elbow height, about 40" and that is/has always been totally comfortable for me. No castors as I think it would possibly move when it's least wanted? Mine sits on adjustable rubber solled feet and if I have jobs where I need extra room I just walk it a few inches, that normally makes the room I need.

I can't comment on different heights because min eis the only band saw I have ever used. It suits me though. I would think that the correct height for you is one that you are comfortable with?

Have fun with it, I do, but always remember that if it cuts8" oak with ease then yer fingers are easy meat!!!

The table on my Kity is 40½'' and that's WITH a ¾'' ply base AND 3'' castors.

Thinking about it now, it would have been uncomfortably low for me before I made it mobile.

The whole thing clears the up-and-over garage door with no problems.

as i thought mine is way too high
just need to work out how to lower it but retain casters

After having a gander at the manual on the machine and the metal box it is sat on? I'm not sure just how you would drop it, but I suppose that you could put a couple of duck boards around it to raise your level?

46" does seem quite high?
2 thoughts:
remove the stand i built and make a new one that has castors fitted higher than base
remove the metal box and build a lower box with castors
main issue i have is old age and weight of machine
my back seems to be screwed recently
have 2 stocky sons,,,one of them broke their wrists with motorbike accident, other is too busy with other ****

Elektra Beckum decided on 1100mm floor to table on their stand for the BAS 315.
Obviously we all vary in height/ leg length etc so one size cannot fit all. Before I made my new stand I stood my saw on a workmate and blocked it up to find the most comfortable working height, bit of a faff but I think it was worth it to get it right.
