The fence on my old Record bandsaw was near impossible to adjust accurately, so I had an idea. The centre knob is redundant, I'm not really sure what purpose it served anyway - all it did was push the fence out of square. Two printer springs, about £6, already machined dead square at the ends allow very quick near microscopic adjustment. It cost a bit of width on the table but the stuff I need accuracy for is quite narrow so it doesn't matter.
