Its a long story so I won't bore you with details but I have a brand new Metabo 317 Bandsaw winging its way to me courtesy of Metabo.

What shall I do keep it or trade it whilst its new and boxed and upgrade to a better machine ?

I have set a budget of £500.00 max new or second hand, An Axminster is an easy buy especially as I can actually go and see it before I buy. I am wary of anything I can't see as I don't believe the build quality is available anymore as most of this kit comes in from the far east.

I am not really into re sawing, I need something that is easy to swap blades without fiddling with inaccessible nuts and is accurate and well made. Any suggestions?

I know there have been many threads about band-saw purchases on this forum but nothing seems to be conclusive, I have Scheppach table saw - any feedback on the Basato 3 ?

I was comparing the 317 with a (more expensive) record 300E. The table on the record was far superior in terms of finish - like glass compared to the Metabo. Also the fence guide is a solid steel bar and the wheels are cast iron. If I can get the right deal I'll be buying a 300E myself soon ...
