Can anyone recommend bandsaw this price range, using to cut fishing lure blanks from cedar, mahogany, etc upto 25mm.most this price range look same, been looking at clarke cbs300, I know I will need to replace with good blade but what is best saw in this price range? Help appreciated. Cheers.

most things will cut through 25mm with ease, given a good blade.

Is this for professional use or hobby? Will it be used for anything other than the lure blanks?

Only for cutting rough shape max 25mm do you think clarke cbs 250 would be up to job with proper setup and tuff blade?at moment using bench mounted jigsaw and noise horrendous,I refine shape on sander. At moment I make for hobby but also well some, advice appreciated cheers

it is up to you- you know your budget, but you could get something that did the job for a lot less, or spend a fair bit more and get a lot more saw.

In terms of that machine, it will do the job. I would be tempted to look at the likes of Record, Axminster etc because they specialise more in that type of machine, and the support is likely to be better than machine mart, who typically wont know the first thing about them. I am not keen on Clarke machinery in general. In fairness the saw looks ok though.

I would probably look at a secondhand model. Ideally, a kity or an inca. There is a nice looking Kity as a buy it now on eBay in Bishop Aukland. There are no incas on there, but if you look at completed listings for "inca bandsaw" you will get a flavour of what is on offer.
