Hi

I need a new bandsaw blade, have heard about 'tuff saws' blades on here, done a google search but cant find anything.

Where can I but them?

Joe

+1, excelent service, and will advise you on blade choice if you tell him what you need to cut, in regards to materials and radius of the curves you want. Cheers _Dan. :)

one small word of warning - after reading many such threads I discussed my needs with Ian, ordered and received (promptly) my new blades.

here things started to diverge from my expectations - I placed the box of blades next to the saw but nothing happened. I made a cuppa and went back to the saw but still nothing  I was fully expecting the blades to mount themselves on the saw, make all the necessary adjustments and even saw the timber whilst I made the tea... (homer)

So, whilst the products and service are truly excellent - don't expect miracles..... :D

I want to add my recommendation to the many that are already on here. I don't expect Ian's blades to work miracles, but I'm sure they are probably the best I can get.

He obviously has a deep knowledge of the production side and it is comforting to know that most of the steel in the blades is UK produced. The tooth configuration is to Ian's design, so the coil he orders for each pitch is as long as your road!

I'm most impressed with his customer service. Not just a call returned within 20 minutes but a 10 minute discussion of my needs (in that rich Welsh accent) and then 4 blades sent off and received quickly but also an extra 4 tpi supertuff premium included free, gratis and for nothing to try out. All of this on trust that I will pay by cheque by return.

No wonder he has so many satisfied customers. Long may his business prosper!

I just got a couple of blades off Ian and used the widest one today for deep ripping some oak and pine, absolutely brilliant, straight down the middle with no wander and cut it like it was butter. He reccomended the blades I needed after informing him what I wanted to do and the blades arrived within two days. Great service and price. Thanks Ian. :D

I bought some from Ian a few years ago (I remember he contacted me to suggest a better mix of blades to what I had asked for and he was right). I finally need a new wide blade so ordered on line last night and got confirmation it had been shipped this morning.
Do they use a USB connection to self adjust the guides?????

Dave

I haven't required any blades from Ian since the days of Dragon Saws (I think thats the name). For those that are new to the forum thats his old trading name. Anyway, when I used him back then the service was brilliant. I had a bandsaw blade snap on the weld and have heard that if that happens the manufacturer should replace free of charge. So I emailed him just to let him know that one had snapped on the weld. He said to post them back. I said don't worry about it, I'm too busy to be sending things back and will still continue to order from him as the blades were of good quality. Next thing I know he's sent me a replacement anyway free of charge! Hows that for service!

Reviving this old thread ... I had a new Tuffsaws blade snap at the weld today. I'm not anticipating any problems with a re-weld or replacement. :)
