Afternoon

As I said in my last post I'm just about to start making some stands for my very limited collection of tools! I have been told that Baltic Birch plywood is the best choice for this because of its dense nature produces a much better quality plywood.

Although the cost of this seems very high, My local Travis Perkins has it listed for £88.93 (2440mm x 1220mm) per sheet. Is there anywhere else I could potentially purchase this cheaper, or is there another plywood I could use?

Cheers

It's going to depend on the thickness but I can get a full sheet of 12mm for £48 from a local timber merchant.

I think TP is going to be one of the most expensive places to buy from. Try to find a local one - quick google for me and I found https://www.jacksonstimber.co.uk - worth giving them a call and asking if they have it and what cost, plus if they'll cut it for you too - unless you can get it home on your own and safely cut it.

.

Don't forget that it comes in different grades when comparing prices. The stuff at TP is probably going to be a low grade.

I get mine from Covers and although I tend to buy more than just a sheet or two at a time, they sell me their 18mm for 50-something a sheet. Quality has always been fine.
