I went there recently too as it's not too far from me. I went to get the upgrade to my small Proxxon table saw and the guy was really helpful and I was able to look over the table saw first and check it was what I wanted.

It was great being able to see all the tools out on display. I was a little bit pushed for time so didn't try out the planes. I felt like a kid in a sweet shop :)

I got a newsletter saying they're having a woodturning demonstration on Saturday by Cheshire Woodturners Guild if any one is interested. 10am - 4pm Quite tempted to go myself if I get a chance.

I returned today and bought everything on my list. 5 sanding belts for my Elu 57. The Axminster extended routing collet extender with free 6-7mm collet. 2 arm attachments from Jet to fit the Tomek wet grinder. Lots of small pin chuck drills. A curved featherboard. As I was there I had a play with some LNPlanes. Great trip!

I used to go once a month and no matter what I went to get...large or small...I always ended up spending £82 exactly. I don't know why...perhaps that's some sort of hypnotic entrance fee...but browsing is a killer...

I only wanted some sanding sealer....£82 please....well with that honing guide and ......

I only wanted to look at the Japanese chisels...£82 please...well with that Japanese saw......

I only want some ducting adaptor for my sucky thing...£82 please...with that magnetic bevel gauge...the gloves and that cute little clamp....

And so on and so on!

The honing guide I used regularly for a month...then I got clever and hone by hand now...(that should make Jacob happy!)...the Japanese saw is fantastic for dovetails...so I used it all day today in my tool cabinet project...and the magnetic bevel gauge is never in its box..it's brilliant for saw angles...

So having one next door is blinkin' dangerous...but I've sussed it now...save up £82 and just go in and shop till you drop!!!!

I wish they'd bring back the "Manager's Special" room though - they seem to have changed their policy whereby they save up all the broken and missing bits and then let loose with a weekend sale...of all of the same bits. Shame...makes it more difficult to spend £82!!!
