Axminster Pillar Drills

Hi Folks,

Does anyone have informations as to the difference between Axminster's "HD" line of drills and the "WD" line?

I need a good quality floor-standing drill and want a good size throat, but budget is a concern. I have been thinking about getting the Jet JDP-17F but it does get up to a good chunk of money once we add shipping, but not sure the savings are worth not getting that one (besides the smaller throat capacity).

The only downside is that the two part table can seem to flex on heavy use (I suspect that it is more to do with me applying a little too much pressure when drilling as I can get impatient).

p.s it was a fair bit cheaper than this when I bought it as an impulse when in the shop

I'm not sure about radial drills. They of course offer the ultimate throat size but what about keeping them straight without having to constantly check for 90 degs? Everything I've read about them says I should go for a non-radial.
