Axminster Lathe

I am a furniture maker and would like to turn spindles for fire screens etc,I have never done any turning,any thoughts on this lathe.

Hi nellist, I would be more than happy to use that lathe for what you want to do. If that is ALL you will want to do with it. Don't forget that there is some limitation with it just having a 1/2 hp motor, but I do like the long bed (using the extension). A nice little lathe for the money. IMO!

Yup - a good little lathe, personally I'd throw away the revolving centre and replace it with a 'proper' one - and if you can get a chuck to go with it - much more versatile than just turning between centres.
