Hi,
I bought an used Axminster CT150 about a year ago and it has performed brilliantly so far but today I was jointing some oak and noticed that the edges weren't as straight as I would like. My first instinct was to get a straight edge along the beds to check that they were in the same plane etc.
When I had the straight edge touching the end of each bed it also contacted the indeed table at the block end but the outfeed table was low at the block end - does that make sense? :? I could get a 0.25mm feeler gauge under the straight edge. I am pretty sure that it wasn't like that when I last checked it and to my knowledge it hasn't been banged or bumped.
Being new-ish to woodworking machinery I wondered if there were "seasonal variations" in machinery OR is it likely that something has shifted OR am I being too pedantic and 0.25mm gap is quite acceptable? I have looked at the bits of the machine that I can see without stripping it down too much and I can't see any obvious way to adjust the beds, is there a way or are they fixed at the factory and not intended to be adjustable?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul.
