Axminster 'Axcaliber Contract' saw blades -- any good

Axminster have an offer presently on their 'Axcaliber Contract' table saw blades (and SCMS). I wondered if anyone on here uses them and if they're any good.

In my limited experience there is a huge difference between quality and cheap blades. I'm minded to buy an Atkinson-Walker from Matthew, but might go the Axcaliber route if people think they're worth a punt. I also suppose having three blades and a case for £36 means at least I can keep them as spares, etc.

I would respectfully suggest at those prices they will not be very good quality.
From the images the carbide tips are quite small compared to what you would get from Atkinson W and other good saw blade suppliers.

I would agree.

Its the word contract that gives the game away, I would guess that they are throw away blades that will not be worth getting sharpened, unlike the ones form Matthew which if taken care of and will last you for years , with the odd sharpen and new tooth.

We have used the Axcaliber blades and they are fit for purpose.
All is good, Yes there is better quality and yes better quality will last longer but you know what your paying before you purchase.
I'd give them a go if i was you.

I had an Axy blade for both my Delta Unisaw and the contractors saw and they were really good for the money i thought.
I have just bought a couple more general purpose blades for my Kity now,which i haven't got round to using yet but am confident that they will be fine for what i want to do.
I have also bought the expensive Freud blades in the past and there is a difference in quality as you'd expect.
I have a couple over which i'll be putting up for sale never used :roll:
