This is the original Axminster Rider prototype No.4 from which all the current range of 'Rider' bench planes are derived. It was made as a 'one off' with the body and frog being cast in brass:
The plane has never been used 'in anger', though I have flattened the sole and fitted a front tote and rear handle in Teak; no box supplied with this plane. This is a unique, 'single edition' plane as this was the only one ever made. For sale at £140 inc courier del.
Next up is a pair of out cannel gouges, with mirror polished bevels. Both have London pattern handles, one being in Pink Ivory and the other in Indian Ebony:
A pound coin is shown for scale. For sale at £20 inc courier del.
An awl with Rosewood handle
£9 inc del.
Note to Mods: Having read the rules n'regs yesterday regarding sale items, it appears I transgressed them with my previous 'Parf Guide' sale and understand why that post was deleted; please accept apologies and note that these current items are not for sale on any other platform except UKWorkshop - Rob
