We just about have phone lines where I live so Broadband isn't an option  . Anyway, I was just reading Devonwoodies thread about AV protection and I was wondering If I have Bit Defender (Based on info from the other thread this seems to be the mutts nuts) installed would I need any other protection, i.e. is a fire wall required with a dial up connection? If so what firewall?

Hi Adrian, I'm on dial-up and use ZoneAlarm (free version) for me firewall and AVG Pro (paid up version, dead cheap). They work very well together and, touch wood, no problems.

I would never go online with out a firewall or AV software even on dial up. Zone alarm has a very good free version, you can't go wrong with that! :)

If you can't get broadband there yet, better start a campaign to get it.

Also I have read about this > http://www.onspeed.com/ I don't know how good it is, but it maybe worth a look ;)
