I am making frame and panel cupboard doors and drawer fronts.

There is an inset on the back, so I was wondering what the standard way of attaching to drawers is?

Does one shim the back? Or attach to the frame.

Attaching to frame seems better add the panel is what moves. However then I have four screws on inside, plus the handle.

Any ideas?

usually fix through the drawer and into the frame of the drawer front. make the front of the drawer box big enough to cover the panel area of the front?

ive seen them stuck on with VHB tape and last before aswell, but they need to be a sealed surface.

I just made some panelled drawer fronts. I didn't give it much thought as to how I was going to fix them. Luckily there was just enough to let me screw into the frames. I don't think I would like to fix into the panel.

Attach handle first to the panel, I usually do 9mm panels. If 6mm you reinforce. Screw through into frame, will hardly be seen once in use.

I usually put 4 screws into the corners of the drawer box front into the frame. I even stick mdf packers on the rear of the panels where the knobs bolt through. This stops the panels bending and helps to hold the fronts on

Thanks, so basically shims where I go through panel and four screws into frame in corners of drawer to hold it on. glad there was no secret I wash missing!
