Ah, that takes me back.
Once upon a time, in a life far away, I was a magician. Floating balls, sawing a lady in half, that kind of stuff. In about '79/80 I was booked for a show in Stoke where the top of the bill was an act called Van Buren & Greta. Or Fred Yoxall and Connie to their friends. Fred, sorry, VB's, agent used to have an act of his own and was persuaded to come out of retirement. He had a doll called Daisy May. I ought to remember his name but right now it escapes me. He had a parrot that looked real, and he had a dog. Two dogs actually, a stuffed dummy and a real wire-haired terrier. He did a routine where the dummy just barked all the time. Then the real dog said "Shut that bloody dog up, will you?" I assume it was a similar dummy mouth to that in the clip but it was the most hilarious thing I'd ever seen.
Hmm, perhaps you had to be there.
Anyway, I enjoyed that, thanks for posting.
