Applying spirit dye

This thread has been interesting, timely and useful. I was about to apply several coats of Danish Oil over a Colron dye today (which I thought would be OK). :roll:

(I'm doing this for a neighbour, on a large window sill.)

That could have been fun as he watched me 'dissolve' the dye I applied yesterday.

Colron say you can put clear wax over dye, but not oil.

Is it the Colron water based dye? That should take DO. It is best to try on some scrap wood.
