Anyone here got any experience of applying Patina over either an oil or spirit based stain?
I have some Beech stools that need to be stained to match a dark Oak kitchen.
Given that they are going to be in a kitchen environment, I would like to use Patina to protect them, as I have had very good results with it in the past.
However, I have only ever applied it to bare wood, never on top of a stain.
Anyone else tried this? Do you reckon an oil based stain or a spirit based one would be better?
Thanks.
Gary
