That's great news. I reckon people of a certain vintage(woodworkers) don't like to browse online catalogues. I hate it and seem to get stuck in a circular browse. Ie looking at the same c#$p!
I think it's a canny move. Probably cannier than opening a load of expensive stores!

Excellent. They must have lost so much trade from giving up the catalogue. I know darn well I pretty much stopped using them when it went. Hate online browsing

Great news, I plan to place it next to the Trend catalogue in the downstairs bog.

I just read the email telling me that the catalogue was coming back which is good news as I also miss having a flick through a catalogue .....But.....it's not the full catalogue as it used to be.
It's a few selected items if I have read the email correctly....?

"Concentrating solely on the popular Axminster brands together with a range of tools available exclusively through Axminster"

Better than nothing I suppose!

Don't you find the paper a bit stiff?

Don't be silly! Screwfix for wiping, the print doesn't come off, duh.

Yep, it will be. All the current Ax brands (UJK etc etc) with a few exclusive goodies for good measure; no power tools. There may or may not be prices in the paper edition, but if there are, I suspect they will only be current when the catalogue is printed, so you'll have to go online or ring the store to find the price. I can't (in these days of economic uncertainty) see the prices being held for a fixed period - Rob

It's arrived !!!!!!!!

Looks thin :(
320ish pages, not too bad; paper seems a bit more flimsy than before.

On page 66, the Japanese saw range has been re-branded as 'Shokunin' which Mike Huntley, late editor of F&C suggested when I had a natter with him a while ago. I mentioned it to d'managment at Ax who appear to have used it. If you want to know where the reference comes from, look at page viii in 'Japanese Woodworking Tools' by Toshio Odate - Rob

I'm not sure what to make of the new catalogue tbh. I'm on page 246 and have only jotted down one thing I'd like. It's mostly all Axminsters own brand stuff. Maybe the last few pages will be more like the old catalogue
