Anyone interested in a Centec auto-pneumatic indexing rotary table?

Not a selling post as such; but I've come across an eBay seller with a few interesting machinery parts (and bought a chuck from him - though I haven't collected it yet). He bought a garage and found the parts left there, and was pretty honest that he doesn't know much about them.

One item looks an awful lot like the Centec 8-inch auto-pneumatic indexing rotary table (see Centec Accessories). It'd be way too big for my little mill, but if anyone is interested I can PM them the reference. No idea of value, but it's currently up for £100.

It's in South Oxfordshire. A mate is collecting the chuck I bought, and next time I'm down that way I'll bring it back up to the Leeds area - so if you were in this area and wanted the Centec part (and weren't in a hurry) then I could bring that up too.

Shame, but it looks like the kind of thing that went out with the dinosaurs. Too old to be of interest for people running production work, and and too specialist to be useful for the hobbyists.

That was my thought. I know Centec stuff is well regarded, but that accessory is way too big for my little mill, and a bit of an oddball in today's climate. Someone, somewhere, would probably bite your hand off to get hold of one though, I suspect.

I had a centec once and didn't rate it really. The prices they're fetching these days are completely insane for something with such a miniscule work envelope. For the price of a centec with a vertical head you can get a bridgeport!

Problem is price vs size. I paid 300 quid for a rough condition Warco mini mill. Lots of fixes (and extra cost) later and it's moderately useful. At the same time I was looking at an old Cincinnati for 500 quid. The latter would have been another world of capability; but was the size and weight of a small car - so impractical for home users.

Looking at the link, I was hoping that it could be adapted as a rotary weld-positioner (it says it can be used as a welding fixture), but it looks like it just locks into place and moves between preset points, so not helpful for welding around round things.
