Last year I was bought a block plane and I bought someone else a carving mallet. So you don't have to make something if you don't want to.

maybe i know a couple of people now after some emails etc but still, i've not even got my bench built yet but i have been collecting some new vintage tools so maybe one of those would be suitable? The making bit would be nice but doesn't seem compulsory so Hazel if your in then i'm in too, no pressure or anything lol but maybe we can't sit here saying we don't know anyone if we don't get involved (hammer)

That's what I like to see, open discussion on SS.

It doesn't matter how long you've been a member of the forum or if you know anyone, joining in is a way of meeting members. I'm aware of that people's skills are at different levels and in the past I'm not aware of anyone not being happy with their gifts.

In the 9 years I've been a member I have meet and made some very good friends that are like minded woodies.

Now up to 24, that's the number we had last year, so it would be nice to beat it.
