Just got delivery of my new saw the other day and have got stuck into cleaning it up and getting it set up in my free time!

I took the fence off to clean it up and noticed that that the micro adjust doesn't do anything at all. Its really just a bolt threaded into the fence as far as I can see. It does nothing. Has anybody got one of these saws or a similar model with the same micro adjust that can tell me is there something missing from mine? Theres no notches on the fence rail so I cant understand how it would actually works but I was under the impression that it is a micro adjust. Its the short fence model.

Also, I had to replace the power cable as it was damaged. I just removed the old one and wired the new one in where the old one was. Do I need the bottom junction box ( the big on / off box)? The on / off lever is broken beyond repair though it must be in the on position because the saw is working! If I do not need this box I would be inclined to remove it and the key switch above it and just go straight into the NVR switch at the top. For no reason other than less to go wrong. And possible voltage drop from being wired through the various components? Or is the internal wiring in the bottom box acting as an an overload / surge protector? Its 240v.

Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Yes you are short of a piece
it clamps to the rail and the adjusting bolt rides in it
So to move the fence you undo both clamping bolts and it moves easily
when its roughly in position you lock the piece you have missing and then use the fine adjuster
then lock the fence and you are good to cut

I'll fish out mine and take a photo for you

They always get lost on 2nd hand machines as you take the fence off

Oh and if yours is single phase then you could remove the bottom isolater
but if its working if you can get the door shut and fastened it would be good to keep the fuses as a back up
do you have a 13 amp plug or a 16 amp?
I wouldnt worry about any voltage drop with the isolater

Aha that's brilliant Ian, thanks very much for doing that! Makes sense now! Ill see about getting something made up to do the job. Would add more rigidity to the fence too I imagine, although its a pretty good fence already. Very impressed with the saw, feels good and solid but light enough for me and ny dad to lift it in and out of a van. Great for a small workshop.

Mine is on a standard 13amp plug. It must be a small enough motor in it as there's no dimming of the lights in my shed when I turn it on.
The door on the isolator box is screwed closed so I think as you say it does no harm to leave it intact as a back up fuse box.
Thanks again Ian, that's a great help.
