Sorry all but I'm sick and tired of trawling other sites for printer set-up and maintenance advice so I'm relying on good ol' UKW :D

We have a Kodak ESP-7 all in one printer that to be honest, has been pants since we got it only 7 months ago. Pants, you may ask? Yes, because:

a) We haven't used it for several months due to the wireless set-up being a MENSA conundrum and

b) Now we've resorted to a USB connection, despite the usual head cleaning and test pages, new cartridges etc, the print quality is STILL diabolical.

Therefore, could any good folks recommend a "manual" solution to getting better print quality?

As for the wireless set-up, we've uninstalled and reinstalled the accompanying programme, it's worked once and then refused to speak to our lap- top.

Yours headscratchingly and all suggestions as usual, greatly received. :D

Thanks

Mark :D

Take it back , not fit for intended use

Get a Epson , I have used this make for about 20 years , no problems

Thanks Blister - That was plan B as we'd managed to ratch out the receipt! I'd second Epson too, I couldn't fault them but we couldn't find a wireless one at the time. :( :(

Take it back and get a replacement.
I have a non-wireless version that we had to replace the day after purchase as it just didnt work.
The replacement is fine, and dont forget the ink cartridges are much cheaper than many other makes.

dump inkjet and go laser, the higher initial price will be offset by not having to replace the ink every bloody time you want to print and find its dried out again.

most lasers can be refilled from ebay bottles of tonner at least a couple of times, unless you opt for a HP which most now have smart chips in them that only let you print a certain number of pages before they say the toner has run out.

colour ones are cheaper these days as well, ink generally is a false economy.

I am thinking of going laser for the same reason, can you get laser all in one eg scanner, printer and copier plus being able to upload pics by plugging in an SD card.
